If you ride enduro, you know that Valais is mountain biking paradise: summits rising above 4,000 metres, seemingly endless singletracks, and an alpine climate that lets you get out on the bike well beyond the summer season. Serious terrain that deserves serious preparation.
That's the philosophy behind Exoride's MTB shuttle service in Valais, running since 2010. Our original idea is simple: let you focus on what matters, the descent, without sacrificing your day to tarmac climbs or the maze of public transport schedules.

Valais, terrain built for enduro
Valais offers negative elevation gains rarely matched anywhere in Europe. Descents of 1,500 to 2,000 metres in a single run, threading through larch forests, alpine scree fields and high-altitude villages. Too much terrain to leave unexplored.
Using our shuttle is simply choosing efficiency: multiple runs in a single day, a drop-off precisely where the trail begins, and a logistics setup that comes down to one thing: being ready to ride.
Chris: a guide who knows his terrain
At Exoride, the shuttle comes with guidance from our dedicated guide. That guide is Chris, Exoride's founder, who has been riding hard in the Swiss Alps since 1989 and still competes in various enduro events, including a recent podium at the iconic Megavalanche at Alpe d'Huez. You can count on the pace being real.
What makes Chris invaluable in the field is less his results than his hands-on, day-to-day knowledge of Valais. He rides every single day, 365 days a year, giving him a real-time read of the trails: weather conditions, erosion, vegetation. Swiss Cycling certified and a natural coach, he adapts to all levels and knows how to spot the technical adjustments that drive progress, whether you're a beginner or a competitor.
His detailed knowledge of the area also covers the region's sensitive zones: sectors with seasonal restrictions, paths shared with other users, protected areas. Riding with someone who understands these nuances is no small thing, it's what allows you to ride responsibly, respect other mountain users, and concretely preserve trail access for years to come.

What we offer in concrete terms
A fleet suited to groups
We run a 12-seat bus equipped for bike transport, expandable to 26 riders with a second vehicle and trailers. Clubs and groups are welcome, in fact, our service often makes the most sense for them.
Whether you ride a regular MTB or an ebike, all bikes are welcome at Exoride. Our transport system is designed to accommodate both standard mountain bikes and ebikes, with no weight limit: no need to wonder, we take care of everything.
Elevation well above the average
A typical day with us delivers between 5,000 and 7,000 metres of descent. For a full guided day, the rate is CHF 95.
Special formats for those who want more
For those who've outgrown ordinary days, we offer two exclusive "signature" formats:
- Solstice Days: making the most of the longest days of the year to target 10,000 m of descent in a single session.
- Fullmoon Days: multiple daytime laps, a meal at altitude in an unusual spot, then a night run by headlamp under a full moon. A format that genuinely has no equivalent.

Our commitment to trails and cohabitation
Riding in Valais is a privilege that rests on a fragile balance between the different users of the mountain: hikers, farmers, local residents, land managers. That balance plays out every day, on the ground.
We invest directly in the upkeep of the trails we use through the Pro-VTT association, as well as through regular hands-on trail work. But beyond physical trail maintenance, it's the presence of Chris, our local guide, that provides the best guarantee of responsible riding. He knows the sensitive zones, the sectors where cohabitation requires extra care, the places where a group of riders can leave a good or a bad impression.
Choosing our guided shuttle is therefore much more than a logistical convenience: it's an active contribution to the image of mountain biking in Valais, to the long-term preservation of trail access, and to a healthy relationship with all mountain users. The kind of thing that doesn't show up on Strava, but that probably matters more than any segment time.
It's for all these reasons that we have always chosen to prioritise the guided shuttle format, at the best possible price: CHF 95 for a full day.
A deliberate choice that benefits riders twice over: a better day on the trail, and the assurance of riding in the right direction, the one that keeps trails open for everyone.
At Exoride, passion has always come before profit. That's perhaps why we're still here since 2010, with over 4,000 of you coming back to push us further.
